Engagement Photography in Kansas City

Couples portraits | L+L

It seems as though I have been doing a ton of Engagement sessions and well we have!  Along with all of the weddings, this seems to be a great season of engagement photos.  It was wonderful getting a call from Lauren and having a last minute session with her and Lance right before their wedding.  It was fun getting to work with them, but honestly it was just flat out a good time and they look good too. 🙂  We did a little mini session since it was last minute and they still managed to rock out a ton of photos.  Here they are and I am excited to see which one Lance and Lauren pick for the gallery wrap that will be displayed at their wedding in about 2 weeks.

Please don’t take images off of the blog I will be uploading to Facebook shortly. Enjoy!

Shatto Milk & the Kauffman Center: Stephanie + Ben

She smiled as she held his hand, she took a slight glance down at the ground and giggled. Ben smiled back and looked at Stephanie like she was the only woman in the world.  To Ben…She is!  Marco and I photographed Stephanie and Ben hanging out with Shatto Milk, their favorite.  The photos were fun and contemporary.  They have been married for awhile and decided to have some creative portraits of themselves done. The best reason of all: “Because I want to!”  Toward the end of their session we headed over to the Kauffman Center for the Preforming Arts where we took some beautiful photos of the two of them and their dog, Maestro.  I love this dog!  Super Sweet!

Ben talked about how someday he will be singing at the Kauffman Center, someday…  And I believe someday will come sooner than he thinks.  Ben is an AMAZING, Singer!  Marco and I should know, we have preformed with he and Stephanie. And Ben is phenomenal.   I have wanted to photograph Stephanie since I was in college and she and I studied voice together.  I am so happy that I got the chance to finally photograph her.  I am sure when you see the photos you will understand why.  Enjoy!

Stately Ward Parkway: Julie + Trevor

She smiles and lights up the room all the while lighting up Trevor’s heart. Julie commented about how funny Trevor is and though he reassured everyone in the room that he does in fact take things seriously, Julie didn’t seem too convinced.  I believe that the reason Trevor is so fun and silly is because all of his fun-ness (yes, just made that up) without a doubt makes Julie smile and with that his heart is warmed and then everyone smiles with her.

They giggled and talked throughout their engagement session, it was fun!  I got to see who they are and how they act together.  I find the relationship between a couple priceless.  It is important that Marco and I get to photograph couples before their weddings, it allows us to be on the same page as the couple and really capture who they are and what they want to look like.  I know that Julie and I are on the same page since their stately Ward Parkway engagement session.  With passing cars and sunset we beat the obstacles, embraced the beautiful light, and captured some wonderful works of art.  Here are some pics from their session.  Enjoy!
