Longview Mansion Wedding | Morgan & Uzo
Clouds moved quickly across the sky as Morgan and Uzo had their intercultural wedding at Longview Mansion. Embracing their faith and hoping for no rain, this lovely christian wedding was the joining of two cultures; Morgan’s American midwest heritage and Uzo’s Nigerian background.
Morgan’s lace and tulle wedding gown fit her perfectly, as did Uzo’s bespoke blue suit. The bridesmaids looked stunning dressed in gold sequins from head to toe, while the groomsmen wore classic black tuxes. An air of peace and joy filled the day. As the bride prepared to walk down the aisle, the bridesmaids stopped to pray over her. Time seemed to stop. Everything was perfect, from the golden dresses in the gorgeous room, to the soft light filtering in through old glass windows. Even the flower girls settled down in their tulle dresses.
The ceremony took place at a lovely gazebo, on an ancient terrace built at the turn of the century. While Morgan and her father walked down the isle, Uzo was tense with anticipation. After exchanging rings, there was a moment of praise, and Morgan broke down with tears of joy. When they were announced as man and wife, the bride and groom looked gleefully into each others eyes, as they took their first few steps.
Nigerian wedding celebration
Soon after dinner the bride and groom snuck upstairs with their bridal party. They surprised all the guests by coming back down in custom designed purple and gold traditional Nigerian outfits, and began the Nigerian dollar dance. Guests poured onto the dance floor while Morgan and Uzo partied the night away.
