Colorado Wedding | A Mountain Elopement
Ethereal Romantic Wedding in the Mountains
I had just pulled up to a small gas station in a remote country town driving home from North Carolina’s Outer Banks. It was beautiful and we chose to take the scenic route home through the mountains, when my phone rang. I was beyond thrilled I even had service. On the other end of a sketchy connection was Christie, with the words. “Don’t hate me but….” My heart started pounding. Christie is a creative, and having worked with her on several photoshoots I knew that she had a random, yet brilliant idea. However, this usually meant that my job just got harder. I laughed and we lost the call. Without fear I turned to Marco and said, “I bet she elopes”. Marco laughed and thought that would be so cool.
A few minutes go by, we are still pumping gas, and as I hold my phone at just the right angle it gets signal. I happily and loudly chat with Christie while she asks if they can turn their destination engagement into a wedding. She liked the idea of saying vows in the mountains with just a few friends and God. I was over the moon. This was perfect for the couple. Brad grew up in Colorado and loved his mountains. They are his home. It made sense to embrace the location with a wedding.
Driving to Colorado for a beautifully romantic intimate wedding was exciting! We arrived early and scouted locations for the ceremony, portraits, and a fun evening of drinks at a local pub. It was quite the tour with Brad as our guide.
The day of the wedding, we pulled up to the cabin and saw Christie sitting in a hammock, tears softly rolling down her cheeks as she wrote her vows. The sun cut through the trees creating a perfect spotlight. I call this God light. It was the remarkable start of a stunning wedding.
From tears, to romantic vows, and mountain top portraits this ethereal Colorado wedding is a beautiful depiction of true love. Thank You Christie and Brad for inviting us to write your photographic novel. Your story is breathtaking!
